Artemis Place Society has been delivering programs in the Capital Region since 1971. The Society began as a response to youth not finding success within the public education system; and, continues to serve that niche.
The Society has evolved over the years and has been known as the Victoria Society for Educational Alternatives, Artemis Options Society as well as a partner in the Girls Alternative Program (GAP). Artemis Place Society is an incorporated BC Society and a Registered Charity with the Canadian Revenue Agency and is overseen by a volunteer Board of Directors.
Society now operates Artemis Place Secondary School which includes life skills and counselling and Artemis Young Parent Program which includes an on-site child care centre. Although there are different program streams, all the programs work in unison and in support of one another. Artemis Place operates from this integrated service delivery model to best support the needs, and foster the strengths of the youth and families it serves.
